高濃度酸素運搬溶液(perfluorodecalin:FDC)を有効に使うため足浴用浴漕の実用化をすすめた. その結果, 酸素気泡化装置, 洗滌・殺菌装置をそなえた新しいタイプの虚血性下肢潰瘍治療装置が試作され, 臨床に使用できた. 臨床応用は, この年度4例でいづれも原則として2週間の治療で潰瘍の縮少効果(30ー70%)をみとめ1例では完全治癒をみた. これら臨床応用により特記すべき副作用はみとめなかった.一方, 基礎的研究としてヘアーレスマウスの背部皮ふの角質のみを取り除き, 酸素の溶解したFDCから, この皮ふを介してリン酸バッハー液への酸素移行をみると, 通過速度は0.0052ml/hr/cm^2と早く, 酸素含量は2時間後0.7±0.1%, 4時間後0.9±0.1%に達した. しかしながら, 角質をとり除かない場合には酸素の移行はみられなかった. 以上のことから, 動物実験によっても, 潰瘍面から酸素が治癒過程の促進に有効的に働くことが示唆された.
