スポーツ活動が最も盛んに行なわれる児童期から青年期にかけての運動意欲の構造や発達的変化については、従来マズローの欲求階層説などの理論から単に演繹して説明されるのみであり、実際の調査に基づく実証的データはTerams(1979)の研究を除いてはほとんど報告されていない。そこで本研究は猪俣ら(1985)によって開発された児童用の運動意欲検査(MIPE)の7下位尺度(運動の有能感,競争意欲,親和,価値意織,達成意欲,失敗回避,身体活動意欲)を手がかりに(1)10才〜18才までの年令別,男女別の運動意欲の因子構造の比較(2)下位尺度別にみた発達的変化(3)下位尺度と運動時間,参加スポーツ種目,技術水準などの運動行動との相関(4)運動意欲検査における各年令,性別の評価基準を明らかにする目的で研究を実施した。調査対象は10才〜18才までの男女合計3049名で調査内容は、運動行動調査(MBS)及び運動意欲検査(MIPE)であった。研究結果としては次のような結論が得られた。(1)10才〜18才までの範囲においては運動意欲の構造は因子論的にみて安定しており、すべての年令段階で先述した7因子がが描出された。(2)まず全体的にみて運動意欲の各下位尺度得点は年令増加とともに減少する傾向がみられ、発達とともに運動意欲が低下していくことが示唆された。また時に一次的欲求としての活動欲求の低下が著るしく、この傾向は女子に顕著にみられた。(3)MIPEと運動行動の関連性については、まず競技水準による比較において運動意欲の有意差は認められなかった。また運動意欲の下位尺度と運動行動(体育の成績や好みの程度)はよく対応しており相関がみられた。さらに運動と直接関係する項目(運動時間,試合への参加の有無)と運動意欲との間に密接な関連性がみられた。

The study of Terams(1979) on the structure and development of motor desire in childhood and adolescence is based on theoretical deduction and practical investigation. This study is based on the seven-dimensional scale of the Motion Intention Survey for Children (MIPE) developed in 1985.(Exercise perception, competitive intention, affinity, motivation, achievement intention, failure avoidance, physical activity intention)(1) Comparison of factor structure of exercise intention between men and women in years from 10 to 18 years (2) Subscale variation in development (3) Subscale exercise time, participation in categories, technical level, exercise action and correlation (4) Exercise intention survey in years Gender evaluation benchmarks are clearly defined and implemented. A total of 3049 men and women from 10 to 18 years old were surveyed, including the Exercise Action Survey (MBS) and the Exercise Intention Survey (MIPE). The results of this study are summarized in the following paragraphs. (1)10 The structure factor theory of motion intention is described in the following seven factors: (2)This shows that the overall desire for exercise and the scores on each sub-scale tend to increase and decrease year by year, and the desire for exercise becomes lower and lower. The desire for time and activity is low, and the tendency is low. (3)MIPE and the correlation between sports action, competition level, comparison, intention difference of sports intention, recognition. The lower level of sports desire and sports action (sports performance and good level) are related to each other. The items of direct relationship between exercise and intention (exercise time, trial and participation) are closely related.
