Study on capsizing of ship in following seas

本文对后续海域的船舶运动和倾覆进行了分析和实验研究。基于弗劳德-克雷洛夫假设和细长体理论，给出了六自由度船舶的运动方程。利用无线电控制模型对拖曳槽内产生的尾随波进行了实验。对实验观测到的运动和理论预测进行了比较。本文利用运动和倾覆的时域数值模拟程序来研究正弦波中的运动。结果与观测到的倾覆现象吻合较好。为简洁起见，本文推导了后续海域船舶运动和倾覆的实用方程。采用Tasai和Inoue的实用水动力系数公式进行了倾覆模拟。最后，提出了一种探讨防倾覆安全的新材料。

An analytical and experimental study of ship motions and capsizing in following seas has been conducted. For a ship having six degrees of freedom, the equations of motion are revealed based on Froude-Krylov hypothesis and slender body theory. Experiments have been carried out using a radio-controlled model in following waves generated in the towing tank. Comparisons of the experimentally observed motions and a theoretical prediction are presented. A time domain numerical simulation program for motions and capsizing has been used to investigate motions in sinusoidal waves. The results show good agreement with observed capsizing phenomena.In the interest of brevity, practical equations for ship motion and capsizing in following seas are derived. Simulations of capsizing are carried out by using Tasai's and Inoue's practical formulas for the hydrodynamic coefficients. Finally a material to discuss safety against capsizing is presented for novelty.
