課題の中心であるCCR或いはCARの作るC^*-代数の構造とその表現に関する結果は論文の形にまとまらなかったが, 各分担者による分担部門に於いて次の様な結果を得た.1.リーの接触変換群を一般化した群のもとでの, 連続体の力学に現われるある種の偏微分方程式の不変性について2.楕円型方程式に対応する強及び弱離散型最大値原理3.非線型放射冷却問題の有限要素解に対してSOR法が収束すること4.楕円型偏微分方程式のガラーキン近似解に対する優収束誤差評価5.偏微分方程式の理論とその有限要素近似の誤差評価をもとに, 計算機により偏微分方程式の解の存在証明を行なう方法を検討し, 従来の理論では解の存在が不明な方程式(楕円型境界値問題)に対する検証の実例を与えた.6.微分代数上にリー構造を導入することにより, いくつかの無限次元リー代数を構成し, その構造を明らかにした.7.双曲的幾何学に於ける手法及び測地的laminationを用いて, 2,3次元トポロジーに関する結果を得た.なお, 代表者は第78回九州支部例会特別講演にて以下の研究内容(論文の形にまとまっていないが)を報告した.8.代表者による「Clarksonの不等式の一般化」の研究(Math.Nachr.114('83))を発展させたA.Tongeの結果(同131('87))がさらにいくつかの方向へ発展可能であること, 特に, ヒルベルト空間に於ける著名なGrothendieckの不等式の一般化, 又, そのLp版の一般化等の問題が上述の代表者の研究と極めて深く係わり合うことを明らかにした. またその際, 作用素イデアル論の結果及び手法がいかに効果的に応用されるかを示した.
