In this proiect. we tried to examine the generation gaps.i.e., several differences which are observable in the use of phonemes, vocabularies and other aspects in Seoul dialect among the various age groups. We interviewed young and old speakers of Seoul mun-an, i.e., the area surrounded by the ancient Seoul castle walls, and described characteristic features of the sound forms, usages and other aspects according to the age groups. We also clarified the conditions of the diachronical changes of vowels occurring in Seoul dialect.
