At Oregon Health Science University, in 1988, the author had examined a patient who had dentinogenesis imperfecta, not amelogenesis imperfecta. We agreed to make research for this another interested inborn error. In 1989 the author received thirteen teeth from five patients. We found the other two patients, but we may receive those teeth in future after the patient having aware on this important hereditary disease.At Minnesota, the author and Professors Witkop and Cervenka discussed our contemporary classification of this anomaly in 1988, and the author received specimens of fourteen cases from them in 1989. In 1990, we discussed on two Japanese cases and reached as autosomal recessive, rough surfaced, hypoplastic and hypomaturation type.Our temporary conclusion is that there are no evident difference between the patients in United State and Japan, although the origin of these mutations in these two countrry may be different.At Toronto University we could not get satisfying cases.At Dahlhousie University, Prof. Cohen and the author discussed our epidemiological research, and finally we will revise our method.We could not find any other case in Japan now.We are now examining these materials by means of electron microprobe analysis, with cooperating with Prof. Ichijo.
