Studies for database construction for information of experimental organism stocks.

本研究的目的是为主要保存在日本大学和研究机构中的实验生物种群（包括动物、植物、微生物和培养细胞）的信息构建有用的数据库。到目前为止，我们已经将这些信息编入果蝇种群、小鼠实验种群、遗传实验用小麦品系和E.杆菌其中一些被出版在印刷品上。在这笔赠款下，我们编制了供实验使用的蚕和老鼠种群。它们被印成“1988年日本蚕实验种群”和“日本大学和研究机构维持的大鼠实验种群”，并分发给有关研究实验室和研究人员。此外，有关培养细胞和遗传实验用水稻品系的数据库材料正在汇编中，果蝇信息正在修订中。

The purpose of this research is to construct useful databases for the information of experimental organism stocks including animals, plants, microorganisms and cultured cells mainly maintained in the universities and research institutions in Japan. So far, we have compiled the information into databases regarding Drosophila stocks, mouse experimental stocks, wheat strains for genetic experiment, and genetic stocks of E. coli. Some of them were published in a printed materials. Under this grant, we have compiled silkworm and rat stocks for experimental use. They were printed as "Silkworm experimental stocks in Japan 1988" and "Rat experimental stocks maintained in universities and research institutions in Japan" and distributed to relevant research laboratories and researchers. In addition, materials for database concerning cultured cells and rice strains for genetic experiment are under compilation and drosophila information are under revision.
