项目摘要

西部太平洋熱帯域の大気ー海洋結合系のふるまいは、世界で最も高い海面水温とユーラシア大陸と太平洋・インド洋の対比という特長から、全地球の気候システムの作用中心と考えて良い。その中でも興味のある問題は、1.西部熱帯太平洋域の暖水(Warm Water Pool)がどのような機構で形成・維持されているかを調べること、2.熱帯域での大気ー海洋相互作用は、従来知られていた機構の他に、クラウドクラスタースケールに伴う相互作用があるのではないか、という問題提起に、観測的に答えること、3.クラウドクラスターの集団であるスーパークラスターの振舞いに関して観測的事実を積みあげ、モデルの結果と比較すること、4.大気ー海洋結合系という意味での海面境界層の研究を確立すること、5.衛星による広域のフラックスの評価を行う技術を確立すること、などである。これらの目的の下に、時間スケールとして、(1)クラウドクラスタースケール、(2)ENSOのスケールでの西部熱帯太平洋域の大気ー海洋相互作用研究計画の原案をまとめた。尚、この計画は、国際的な枠組で行われている大気ー海洋相互計画(COARE)とも対応しており、J-COAREと呼ぶことにした。日本の計画の骨子は、(1)大気の現象に対しては、飛行機観測を中心に(2)海洋の現象に関しては、ATLAS型保留ブイ、及び、海洋中の乱流観測、及び、(3)船舶積載型のプロファイアーの開発及びSatelliteによるfluxの技術の開発などの機器測定法の開発となっている。

Establishment of the study of the sea surface boundary layer in the context of the large ocean combination system; 5. Establishment of the technology for the evaluation of satellite navigation. The purpose of this study is to study the relationship between (1) temperature and temperature, and (2)ENSO temperature and temperature in the western Pacific Ocean. The International Ocean Interaction Program (COARE) and the J-COARE Program are currently under way. Japan's plan includes: (1) phenomena related to atmospheric phenomena, such as the center of aircraft measurement;(2) phenomena related to ocean phenomena, such as ATLAS type retention, and turbulence measurement in ocean; and (3) development of technology for ship stowage type and Satellite type flux measurement.
