International Joint Research on Energy Budget in the Western Pacific and the Tibetan Plateau

为了阐明气-海-陆相互作用及其在气候变化中的作用，对西太平洋和青藏高原地区的能量收支进行了初步而广泛的研究。测量和解释了大气温室气体和气溶胶的时间和空间变化。对数据进行了收集和分析，重点是与ENSO有关的现象。已经发展了几个数值模型。虽然这一项目的期限只有一年，但相关研究将在日本文部科学省新启动的研究计划--新计划中继续和发展。

To elucidate air-sea-land interactions and their role in climate change a preliminary but extensive study has been performed on the energy budget in the Western Pacific and the Tibetan Plateau regions. Temporal and spacial variations of atmospheric greenhouse gases and aerosols have been measured and interpreted. Collections and analyses of the data have been made placing emphasis on ENSO related phenomena. Several numerical models have been developed. Designs of the future field experiments have also been established.Although the term of this project is only one year, related studies will be continued and developed in a newly starting research program, i.e. New program, of the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture, Japan.
