1.研究代表者、分担者を中心に国際共同研究企画委員会を設置し、(1)アジア太平洋諸国(地域)の経済・社会・統計分野の研究機関リストの作成、(2)現時点で入手しているアジア各国統計資料のリスト作成と内容の検討、(3)アジア諸国の研究機関との共同研究体制(人事交流、資料交換、財源等)についての検討を行った。2.アジア太平洋地域の経済実態、政策上の問題点、及び研究の動向について、中国、韓国、台湾の研究者・企業関係者からヒアリングを行った。このヒアリングから、今後アジア太平洋地域の経済発展に関する研究を進めるためには、各国の統計資料のみでなく、アジア諸国間及び日本・米国とアジアNIEs,ASEA諸国間の経済の相互依存関係をあらわす統計資料を充実させる必要があることが示された。そこで、ADB(アジア開発銀行)、World Bank等の国際機関の作成しているアジア諸国関係の統計資料については特に検討した。3.アジア4カ国(韓国・台湾・シンガポ-ル・日本)の研究者により、リサ-チ・コンファレンス(専門家会議)を開催し、「アジア太平洋地域間協力」についてのディスカッションを行った。この討議を通して、アジア諸国の今後の産業構造の変化の見通しについての産業連関表を用いた数量的分析の必要性や各国の政策対応との関連からみた債務問題の数量的分析の必要性等が指摘された。4.上記1〜3の研究作業及び討議を通して提出された今後の調査研究課題を整理し、共同研究の方法についての構想案をとりまとめた。今後は、この構想案のもとに内外の研究機関・研究者と連絡をとりあいながら、各課題について、継続的に調査研究を進めていく予定である。
