Many dental implants materials used clinically have been subject to basic investigation. Pd-Co dental casting ferro-magnetic alloys were very useful is a dental material. They were clinically used with good success as a connection of sectional dentures for difficult cases and an attachment of overdentures in combination with the Sm-Co magnets. We studied the bio-compatibility of Pd-Co dental casting ferro-magnetic alloys in vivo by examining their histo-pathological effects on implantation into the intraosseous tissue of rats and rabbits. The experimental periods were from 2 weeks to 3 months. The results were as follows:Though slight inflammations with reddening and swelling were examined at insight for several days after the operation on the surrounding parts of the spiral implants, a few weeks later they healed comparatively rapidly. At the beginning the implanted spiral artificial roots were slightly unsteady, even though treated with fixation by ligation, and after that, they had a tendency to be steadily fixed in the course of days.In the case of 3 months, opaque figures, on account of the bony growth, were observed in the X-ray films from the central part to the edge of the implanted spiral artificial roots. In both of the cases of 2 weeks and 1 months, fibrous connective tissue slightly infiltrated inflammatory cells were seen formed in rings around the metals of implanted spiral artificial roots. The buried metals were surrounded with the dense connective tissues in rings, at the base of which the alveolar bones and the growth of bones were observed. In case of 3 months, at the surrounding of the buried metals the alveolar bones and the growth of bones were observed. Evon though the dental casting ferro-magnetic alloys gave a slight tissue reactions than titanum, few fibrous tissue separation between the implant and bone was obvious.
