研究期間を2か年とする本研究の初年度にあたる今年度は、19世紀末に積極的に海外進出を行ったアメリカ生命保険会社の事例について、次の研究を実施し、わが国の生命保険業における政府規制のあり方を検討するための参考とした。これまでの諸研究の成果を、文献研究を通じてレビュ-した。1 アメリカの当時の大手生命保険会社が、なぜ海外進出を活発に行ったか、その要因を分析した。当時の時代的風潮である拡張精神、アメリカ国内における競争圧力による販売上の停滞、およびアメリカでの保険加入者の反抗(revolt)からの逃避が、主要な要因であることが明らかになった。2 20世紀になって、アメリカの生命保険会社が、なぜ海外活動を縮小したのか、その要因を検討した。海外進出に伴う事業費の増大、海外での不動産等の投資利回りの低下、海外での死亡率の上昇が、海外活動を縮小させる要因であった。3 さらに、次のような政府規制が、生命保険会社の海外での事業活動を、縮小させることを加速させた。手数料と新契約高に対するアメリカ政府による制限、外国政府によるアメリカ生命保険会社に対する敵対的規制である。4 日本の生命保険会社の海外進出も徐々に進みつつある。海外進出に対する日本政府による規制のあり方について、より一層研究すべきである。

The research period is 2 years. At the beginning of this study, there are many cases of overseas investment in China, such as the case study of life insurance companies in China, the case study of government regulation in China, and the case study of life insurance companies in China. The results of this research and literature research are discussed in detail. 1. Analysis of the main causes of overseas entry and exit activities At that time, the trend of the times was to expand the spirit of competition, to stagnate in sales, to protect the resistance of the participants, and to escape from the main reasons. 2. In the 20th century, the important causes of overseas activities were discussed. The increase in overseas business expenses, the decrease in investment returns in overseas real estate, the increase in overseas mortality, and the decrease in overseas activities are the main factors. 3. Government regulation and reduction of overseas business activities of Life Protection Association The number of new contracts is high against government regulations, foreign government regulations, and life protection organizations. 4 Japan's Life Protection Association's overseas entry and exit The Japanese government has been studying overseas regulations.
