中国の秘密結社(会党・〓会)は300年余の歴史をもつが、今回はとくに民国初期に焦点をあてた。この時期は、辛亥革名前の10年間,革命運動に参加して隆盛をみせた会党が、中華民国新政府の排斥・弾圧に遭って変質,転換を余儀なくされた時期であった。この点を民国元年長江流域に新たに設立された青〓・紅〓の代表的な連合組織,中華民国共進会(陳其美・応〓丞・張尭卿)と社団改進会(譚人鳳・徐宝山)の二つについて,組織の目的と性格を究明するとともに、新政府とのかかわりのなかで、これらがいかなる運命をたどったかについて考察をおこなった。その結果,二つの結社は,いずれも清末会党によって起家した革命党人や〓会首領たちが,会党存亡の危機に直面するなかで,旧い体質の会党組織を再編して合法的な民党に改良脱皮させ,自らの政治活動,基盤の強化をはかろうとしたものであることがわかった。しかし,現実にはこうした努力も,会党民衆の社会的擾乱,反社会的行為を克服,抑止することができず,事は計画通りにすすまなかった。他方,身国の建設をめざす新政府(袁世凱政権)にとり,社会の安定,秩序維持は至上課題であったから,元年9月と11月に秘密結社禁止令,解放令が相ついで出され,取締り弾圧が強化された。こうしたなかで,会党・〓会の多くは解体を余儀なくされ、或いは地下に潜ることになった。またこの間,かつて会党首領の一部が新政府の幹部に栄進し,旧部下の会党民衆に対する関係が弛緩し,かれらに対する配慮を放置したことも少なからず影響した。やがて,第二革命に革命党が敗北,かつて会党を指導した革命党首脳(孫文,黄興など)が海外に亡命するなかで、会衆民衆の流氓化がはじまる。かくしてこの動きはやがて1920〜30年代の上海など沿海都市を中心に隆盛するいわゆる“黒社会"時代へ連なることになる。

China's secret associations (associations) have a history of more than 300 years. During the ten years before the Revolution of 1911, the revolutionary movement participated in the Communist Party of China, and the new government of the Republic of China was rejected by the Communist Party of China. In the first year of the Republic of China, the Yangtze River Basin was newly established as a representative of the joint organization, the Republic of China Association for Progress (Chen Qimei, Chen Cheng, Zhang Qing) and the Association for Social Improvement (Tan Renfeng, Xu Baoshan). The purpose of the organization was to investigate the character of the new government. As a result, the two associations were formed in the late Qing Dynasty. The leaders of the revolutionary party and the leaders of the revolutionary party faced up to the crisis of the survival of the party. The old constitution of the party organization was reorganized and the legitimate democratic party was reformed. The political activities of the party itself were strengthened. We are working hard to overcome the social disturbance and anti-social behavior of the party and the people, and we are working hard to prevent them from doing so. On the other hand, the new government (Yuan Shikai's political system) was established, social stability and order were maintained, and the secret association prohibition order was issued in September and November of the first year. This is the first time that I've ever met someone who's been in a relationship with someone who's been in a relationship with someone else. In the meantime, the leaders of the Party have made progress in the new government, and the relationship between the Party and the people under the old Ministry has been relaxed. The Second Revolutionary Party was defeated, and the leaders of the Revolutionary Party (Sun Wen, Huang Xingni) fled overseas, and the masses became hooligans. Shanghai in the 1920s and 1930s was the center of the coastal city and the center of the "black society."
