本年度はわれわれは研究計画に沿って研究の打ち合わせを二度行い、主に北海道大学に所蔵しない明清代の資料を収集した。収集した資料は地方誌、栽判の判例集等であるが、現在それらの資料を読解分析し頃目ごとに整理する作業を継続中である。当面、中間的なものではあるが、新たに得られた知見は次のようなものである。1、福建地方の地域開発は農業部門から始まったが、地域的にはこれを四つに区分することができる。すなわち〓北(建州・邵武軍南剣州北部)、〓西(南剣州南部汀州・潭州西部)、〓東(福州・興化軍北部)、〓南(興化軍南部・泉州・潭州東部)である。〓北は唐代以前から開発が始まった地域である。〓東の開発はこれに継ぐが、唐末には福洲平原は福建の政治経済の中心地の地位を占めた。〓南の開発は海田を特微とし、それは宋代に大いに進んだ。〓西は可耕地が極めて少なく、開発はやや遅れた地域である。2、福建地方に特微的な現象の一つは、宗族組織の強固さとその宗教活動との結合である。明代以降この宗族は地域的権力すなわち官府との結託を強め、経済活動にも強い影響力を持つようになるが、そのことと宗教活動とは無関係ではなかった。すなわち、宋代以降村落内の地主・商人層は、村落内の宗教結社たる「社会」の活動の実権を掌握することを通じて、宗族の求心力を高めるとともに、地域的な影響力を維持拡大していったと考えられる。なお、明清代の土地所有、一田両主制に関しては朱国禎氏による契約文書集が公刊されており、現在それを解読中である。また、研究発表欄の二論文は、特に福建を対象としたものではないが、全体的な法制の枠組みを押さえておく必要から書かれたものである。
