This project proposal aims at investigating how oomycete plant pathogens utilize small RNAs to manipulate host immunity for infection, and vice versa plant hosts employ small RNAs to control against oomycete pathogens. We herein expect to uncover novel plant immunity factors as well as to deliver valuable knowledge that will expand our limited understanding of RNA-based plant-organismic communication in nature.
