1.サルの僧帽弁にはNPY性神経が密に分布し、これらの神経はinterstitial cellと密接な関連をもつことを発表した(Histol.Histopathol.1993)。2.サルの房室弁を免疫電顕的に検索した結果、(1)弁尖部には心房筋は存在せず心房側の上皮下に平滑筋様の特徴を持ったinterstitial cellsの薄層が存在すること,(2)NPY性神経終末は、interstitial cellと心房側の上皮下にterminateすること,などが明らかになった。これらの結果から、NPY性神経はサルの房室弁の機能にinterstitial cellsや上皮を介して深く関与することが示唆された(Anatomical Recordへ投稿中)。ラットguinea pigの房室弁におけるペプチド神経の分布をwhole-mount標本で検索した結果、(1)ラットにはVIP,NPY,CGRP性神経が、guinea pigではこれらに加えてさらにSP性神経も分布すること、(2)各ペプチド性神経は、房室弁の各弁尖毎に特徴ある分布パターン、密度,ramificationを示すこと、(3)各ペプチド性神経は共通して僧帽弁前尖に最も密に分布すること、などが明らかになった。ペプチド性神経の房室弁での詳細なmappingは、これらの神経の房室弁での機能の解明に大きな役割を果たすものと思われた(Anatomy and Embryologyへ投稿中)。
