本研究は従来のドイツのトゥルネン・スポーツ史研究にあっては等閑視されがちであった、産業史的パースペクティブによる歴史像の再構築を目的としたものである。1年間という研究期間しかも資史料の収集からスタートせざるをえないという条件を踏まえ、現時点では以下の研究成果及び課題の概要を記しておくこととしたい。1.Neuendorff,Eichel,Duding,Zieschang,Neumann,Peiffer,Ueberhorst等の著作の上記観点による再検討を試みたが、トゥルネン機器類の規格化・商品化(Turngerat-Industrie)コミュニケーション手段としての情報(広義のトゥルネンメディア)産業の生成と展開(発行あるいは廃刊年月、発行部数の増減など)、指導者の養成等に関する叙述は看取できるものの、おしなべて「企業」史あるいは産業連関という媒介項が欠落しているため、商品開発主体の意図(商品コンセプト、価格及び消費対象の確定等)が不問に付されており、この点を鳥瞰した叙述が今後必要となること。2.DerTurner(1846-1849),Turn-Zeitung(1846-47)を中心に入手史料の整理と調査を行ったが、この2つの史料からいえることは、(1)で指摘した商品の開発母体たる「企業」の内実に関する記事は管見のかぎりなく、したがってこの段階(19世紀中頃)では「企業」としてまだ十分に成熟していないことが推測されること。しかしこの判断には新史料による史料批判が当然要求される。F.ヤーンの時代からすでに祝祭、祭典のもつ意味は大きかったといえるが、これら祝祭の構図全体を産業史の観点からも意味付けしていく必要がある。不十分ながらこの点と関わって論文を書いたが、例えばトゥルンフェストのなかにイベント的様相がどのようにして組み込まれていったのか、は深化さすべき課題の一つといえよう。
