本研究は,"Laroplan for grundskolan,Lgr80"におけるカテゴリーのデータベースの作成と分析から行った。特に"Laroplan for grundskolan,Lgr80"のなかのKursplanでslojdにかかわる部分の全文を検討した。KursplanのBild,Hemkunskap,Orienteringsamnenの3教科についての検討は,今後の問題として残された。カテゴリーについては,フェーグレンのK1からK9までを利用した。それは美的育成のK1及びK2,実際的能力育成のK3からK5,消費者育成のK6及びK7,文化育成のK8,社会的育成のK9である。日本の図画工作科については学習指導要領とその解説において,そのカテゴリーを検討したが,K1からK9以外のカテゴリーを必要としなかた。また,K1及びK2のカテゴリーにそのほとんどが含まれることから,図画工作科の内容が,いわゆる芸術というものへと集約されていく図式が示された。その結果,スロイドは日本の図画工作科や美術科と比して,美的な育成を重視しながらも,より社会的な実際性という観点を,その目標のなかに包含していることが明らかになった。このことは,"Laroplan for grundskolan,Lgr80"が,概念定義・教育内容・評価の視点を,日本の学習指導要領の内容と比して,社会的な視点から明解にしていると考えられる。スウェーデンのスロイド教育の教育理念を検討することによって,以下の観点が小学校図画工作科及び中学校美術科にとって必要であると考えられた。(1)日本における産業社会や生活の変化,価値観の多様化の必要性,種々の領域で,より創造性をもった対応を必要とされる現代において,図画工作科や美術科は,いわゆるアカデミズム的芸術を指向するのではなく,より明解に社会との対応を検討しながら,幅広い知識と能力の基盤に立ち,またそれを形成する教科としての再編が必要となる。(2)前述の再編は,すべての他教科との重要な関連づけをもって可能となり,場合によっては教科の枠組みも再検討する必要がある。(例えば,「ものをつくる」という活動に含まれる内容と,算数や理科,社会,技術・家庭科等との問題。「表現」という観点から音楽や国語との問題。)(3)教科再編においては,分割されない人間としての「個」と知識という観点から,教育内容とその活動において一貫した教育内容として美や能力,知識を捉える必要がある。(例えば,「美」が特別で独立(あるいは孤立)した内容とならないような配慮が必要となる。)
