本年度のデータベース作成は、当初は、燈史ファイルとして『景徳伝燈録』の入力を予定していたが、既に、語録ファイルとして『永平広録』巻1・2が入力済であることを鑑み、それを基に、平成6年5月21〜22日に開催された第45回日本印度学仏教学会学術大会において、その成果を発表すべく、同じ道元の著作である「永平頌古」并びに真字『正法眼蔵』(公案集)に集録される400則弱の公案及びその出典の入力を行なった。学会では、その分析結果から、特に真字『正法眼蔵』の性格づけを中心とした「真字『正法眼蔵』の成立に関する一私見」(21日発表)と題した発表を行ない、学会誌『印度学仏教学研究』第43巻1号誌上に同名の論文として掲載していただいた。なお、作成したデータベースの分析結果は、『曹洞宗宗学研究紀要』第8号(平成6年10月)誌上に紙数を頂戴し、前記学会発表の内容を補填しつつ、その論文末に一覧表の形式にて発表した。以上が前期中の作業であるが、10月に入ってからは、日本曹洞宗中心であったデータの拡充をはかるため、代表的な公案集よりのデータ入力に取りかかった。その作業において入力したのは、『雪竇頌古』『宏智頌古』『円悟頌古』の各宗派の頌古それぞれ100則と、「宏智拈古」、「円悟拈古」それぞれ100則の計500則である。現在は着話禅の大成者である大彗宗晃の『正法眼蔵』の公案を入力中である。
