1.研究目的大学生を対象に、学習材料の中から記憶しやすい材料と記憶しにくい材料を選択させることによって、被験者のメタ記憶能力について、次の2つの観点から検討した。(1)被験者はメタ記憶判断(「材料の記憶しやすさの判断」)を行えるのか?(2)メタ記憶判断(「材料の記憶しやすさの判断」)が実際の記憶成績に対して、どのような効果をもつのか?2.方法単語を2語ずつ呈示し、メタ記憶判断群の被験者には、記憶しやすい方の単語を選択させ、非メタ記憶判断群の被験者には、感じのよい方の単語を選択させた後、偶発的に自由再生を求めることによって、被験者のメタ記憶判断が記憶に対してどのような影響を与えるかについて調べた。3.結果(1)メタ記憶判断と非メタ記憶判断の選択パターンには違いが認められた。(2)これに対して、判断の基準が異なっていても、全般的な再生成績には違いが認められなかった。4.考察被験者はメタ記憶判断に基づいて学習材料の選択パターンを変えているものの、この判断の違いが記憶成績に対して一義的な影響を与えているわけではないことが明らかとなった。これらのことから、記憶成績について考える際に、メタ記憶判断だけではなく、記憶に有効な記憶方略の問題も考えなければないないことが示唆された。
