项目摘要

本年度の研究によって得られた知見等の成果は、以下の通りである。1 下河辺長流の研究において、現在、唯一のまとまった資料である、朝日新聞社刊『長流全集』上下巻に収録された長流の編著は、水戸彰考館文庫所蔵本を底本としたものが多い。しかしながら、全集本の本文と同文庫に残存する資料とを比較照合すると明白な相違があり、改訂すべき点が多々認められる。長流のすべての編著は改めて正確に翻刻される必要がある。2『林葉累塵集』入集の歌人の一人「湛水」は、江戸下谷池之端にある正慶寺の開山であり、徳川家と接点を持つ人物であることが判明した。彼もまた、これまで検討してきた『林葉累塵集』入集の他の歌人と同様、もとは武士の身であり、近世初期に出家して京都から江戸に下った人物であった。江戸に赴いた長流と親しく交際し、和歌の贈答を行っている。当時の江戸は、松永貞徳や木下長嘯子の門人が地下和歌の宗匠として活躍していたが、湛水は彼らとも交流を持ち、歌人として活躍している。彼の存在は、長流研究においては上方と江戸とを、近世地下和歌研究においては、新興の地下歌人と徳川家とを結ぶ結節点として大いに注目される。3本居宣長記念館に所蔵される「林葉累塵集」の写本には、巻頭に宣長自筆の識語がある。これは「林葉累塵集」の詠歌に対する宣長の批評を記したものである。これにより宣長の「林葉累塵集」に対する評価が把握された。
