事例地域として、典型的な中山間地域である香川県琴南町を選定した。町内で特徴的な5地区を選定し、居住者への訪問聞き取り調査により、日常的行動圏域の実態調査を行った。調査対象とした行動種目は、通勤、通院、レクリエーションの3種である。調査項目は、これらの行動における行先の施設名及びその位置である。また、行動圏域に個人差を生じる要因と考えられる、年齢、性別、交通手段等の個人的属性についても併せて調査した。以上の調査結果を地区別、行動種別(5地区×3行動種=15パターン)に集計した。行動圏域の形成構造について、地区別、行動種目に多項ロジットモデルによる分析を行った。モデルの従属変数は行き先の選択確率、説明変数は行き先の魅力度、自宅から行き先へのアクセス距離とした。分析の結果、3種の行動圏域共に、全体的にモデルの適合度が低く、モデルによる説明力が低いことが判明した。特に、DIDから離れた地区においてモデルの説明力が低く、行き先の魅力度と行き先への距離の2点のみから説明できるような単純なものではないことが判明した。モデルの説明力が低かった原因としては以下の2点が考えられる。(1)中山間は都市域と異なり、行き先の選択枝が限られている。すなわち、多数存在する選択枝の中から好みのものを選ぶ、という都市的な選択パターンではなく、あらかじめ選択枝が限定されており、いやでもそこへ行くというパターンである。この場合、行動圏域を行き先の魅力度と距離のみで説明しようとしたこと自体に問題があったと考えられる。(2)他の中山間地域同様、高齢者のみの世帯も多数存在し、自家用者を使う非高齢者世帯との間に、大きな隔たりがあることが推察される。以上から、今後、行き先(選択枝)の分布状況とその選択パターンの関係を明らかにすると共に、年齢、性別、移動の際の交通手段等の個人的属性と生活圏域との関連について分析を進めて行きたい。
