本研究は、中学生を対象とした歯科健康教育プログラムの開発と評価を目的とした研究である。本年度の研究では教育プログラムの実施に先立つ実態調査と教材開発を行った。実態調査とは、中学生の口腔の健康状態とプラークコントロール技術の把握である。具体的には、歯科健診、口腔内写真撮影、ブラッシング行動のビデオ撮影からなる。対象は千葉市内および浜松市内の中学生であるが、これから以下の結果を得た。大まかな健康状態の結果は、申請者がこれまで東京都内で実施してきた結果とは大差はなかったが、今回初めて特殊学級生徒を対象に加え、健常児との比較を行った。その結果、特殊学級生徒と健常児とを集団で比較した場合は大きな差はないが、特殊学級生徒ではその集団内での個人差が大きかった。ブラッシング行動でもかなりばらつきがみられた。これは障害そのものに関係するとともに、家庭での指導の必要性を示唆すると考えた。これまで開発した歯科健康教育プログラムは学校の保健授業内で行うことを前提としてきたが、さらに家庭での指導を含めた教育プログラムの開発を進めた。また自己効力を高める指導としては、撮影したビデオの中から適当なものを取り上げて、ビデオ教材としたが、各個人の状況は写真撮影でしか示せなかった。今後の改良点としては、各自のビデオ撮影結果をどのように教材へ生かしていくか、またどのような提示の仕方が自己効力をより高めるのかについて詳細に調べる必要がある。なおこれら検診等の結果は現在もなお分析を継続中である。
