本研究の目的は、こうした国内外の状況を受け、「国立バイオスフィア研究ネットワーク機構」の構想を、「国際研究ネットワークDIWPA」構想と有機的に関連させることによって、「生物多様性と生態複合」をはじめとする、地球時代の生態科学に求められる研究領域・課題を推進するのに最も有効な研究体制のグランド・ヴィジョンを提示することにある。このため、幹事会(コアメンバーによる会議)を3回、全体会議を1回開き、公開の研究会も1回開くとともに、中心メンバーが関係者との意見交流を行い、とくに以下の3点に関する検討を行った。1)DIWPAで重点的に推進すべき具体的研究領域・課題の選定、およびその推進のために必要な研究体制・組織体制、とくに海外での研究拠点等、国際的共同研究・教育のための場に関する構想。2)「国立バイオスフィア研究ネットワーク機構」の中核的研究機関(「国立バイオスフィア研究所」)における国際対応の機能、とくにDIWPAとの連携の具体的方法に関する構想。3)「国立バイオスフィア研究ネットワーク機構」メンバー研究施設群に関して、DIWPAとの関係、とくにDIWPAネットワークの日本国内の部分としての位置づけについての検討。これらの成果を報告書にまとめた。

The purpose of this study is to understand the situation at home and abroad, the hypothesis of "National Research Institute", the hypothesis of "International Research Institute" and the organic relationship, and the hypothesis of "Biological Diversity and Ecological Complex". Ecological science in the earth era requires the most effective research system to promote research fields and topics. 3 meetings, 1 plenary meeting, 1 open meeting, 1 open meeting, 3 discussion points below for the exchange of views between the center and the related parties. 1)DIWPA focuses on specific research areas, selection of topics, necessary research system, organizational structure, overseas research points, international joint research, education and field related ideas. 2)The function of international cooperation and the specific method of DIWPA's connection are supposed to be related to the research organization of the National Research Institute (National Research Institute). 3)"National Research Institute" is a discussion on the relationship between DIWPA and research facilities in Japan. The results of the study were reported.
