食品工業,化学工業等においては,生産物の特性が生産物に含まれている成分の割合に依存している場合が多い。例えば,食品工業の分野において,ミックスジュースはジュースに含まれている成分の割合に応じて美味しさが変わってくるし,ケーキに関しては,小麦粉,ベ-キングパウダー,ショートニング,砂糖,水の割合によって,味やふんわりした感じに影響が与えられる。実験計画の立場から,特性のyと成分の割合の関係を研究するための実験を混合実験という。混合実験における混合成分変数の合計は1であるとう制約をもつ。従って,混合実験は直交性のある実験ではないため,通常の直交性を基礎にした実験計画を適用することはできない。混合実験計画は,特にアメリカを中心にして,40年程研究が続けられているが,そのすべてが応答曲面法的アプローチを採用してきた。本研究においては,混合実験に対して損失関数を用いたより口バストな実験計画と解析法を提案し,応答曲面法的アプローチとの比較を行った。さらに,Analysis of Means(ANOM)を用いて,第i成分を増やすことの効果がすべて等しいかどうかの検定をする場合に,最適性をもつ実験計画を研究し,local interactionの検定に関しては,椿(1995): 「ANOMを用いたLocal Interactionの検定」が日本経営工学会誌,Vol.46に掲載された。また,制約付き検定問題に関してはTsubaki(1995): 「New Weighted Sum of x^2 Test For Testing A Linear Hypothesis Against A Restricted Alternative Hypothesis」がCommunication in Statistics,Vol.24に掲載された。
