We investigated the influence of amrinone on the oxygen affinity of red blood cell. After centrifuge, red blood cell with Krebs-Ringer solution was divided into four groups. (Control Group, A1 : added to the amrinone of the concentration for the clinical use, Group A2 : ten times of the A1, Group A3 : one hundred times of the A1) After incubation in 37゚C for three hours, we measured P50,2,3-DPG,pH-e, pH-i, PCO2, base excess, blood sugar, Na-e, Na-i, K-e, K-i.P50 was not changed as 24.1,24.6,25.1,25.8 (Control, A3, A2, A1). But 2,3-DPG,pH-e, and base excess were decreased significantly in group A3 and A2 versus control group. Furthermore pH-i, PCO2 and blood sugar were decreased significantly in group A3 vs.control group. We concluded that amrinone did not decreased the oxygen affinity of red blood cell in spite of the acceleration of the metabolism.
