The objective of the research was to establish the basis of the Braille code system and Braille expresion for describing the mathematics of university level on occasion of the beginning of the university education for the visually impaired by the public responsibility in Japan, for which has been waited for a long time. In order to accomplish the purpose, the follwoing works were proposed at the beginning of the project.1.Investigating and understanding the present and past mathematic Braille code systems in Japan and foreign countries, and examining the problems.2.Hearing and examining the opinions of the Braille users on the present mathematic Braille code system in Japan and foreign countries.3.Proposting the mathematic Braille code system for the university education in Japan as the result of the above mentioned researches.In the course of the researching acivities, the investigators have reached at the following view points.1.In order to understand the present mathematic Braille code system, it is necessary to study the historical process.2.An easy-going trend of respecting superficial formalism and neglecting the essential feature of tactile reading is consicuous in the recent process of establishing the universal Braille code in English.In the final year of the project, the investigators actively collected the documents for historical studies and Ms. Saito is presently publishing the historical tables of the mathematic Braille codes in Japan.

研究的目的是建立盲文编码系统和盲文表达的基础，用于描述大学水平的数学，在日本的公共责任的视障者的大学教育开始之际，已经等待了很长时间。为了达到这一目的，本课题在研究之初就提出了以下工作：1.调查和了解日本和国外数学盲文编码系统的现状和历史，2.听取和审查日本和国外盲文使用者对现行数学盲文编码系统的意见; 3.提出大学数学盲文编码系统在研究过程中，研究者们得出了以下几点认识：1.为了了解日本现行的数学盲文编码系统，研究历史进程是必要的。在当前的阅读教学过程中，存在着一种重表面形式主义，忽视触觉阅读本质特征的倾向，在项目的最后一年，研究者们积极收集历史研究的文献，斋藤女士目前正在出版日本数学盲文编码的历史表。
