今年度は、吉原と出版に関して興味深い享保期から天明期に時代を中心として、吉原関連の出版を網羅的に調査することを第一の目標とした。科研費により、天理図書館、国立国会図書館、都立中央図書館などを調査することができた。時間の制約がある場合は、複写によってこれを補った。爾来、筆者は、八木敬一氏と共同で吉原細見の書誌研究を行なってきたが、平成七年九月横浜の平木浮世絵美術館に於て、「江戸美女競 吉原細見展」が催され、二百余点の個人蔵吉原細見が集められた。年代不明細見の年代を考証する傍ら、この機会に、名称のみが知られながら存在が確認されていない十余点の細見のデータを収集することができ、吉原細見に関するデータベースを充実させることができた。これらは学会にも知られていないもので、極めて貴重な資料と言える。天理大学附属天理図書館に所蔵されている遊里関係の文献の調査を行なった。これについては百八十余点にのぼる吉原細見の書誌調査を終えたに留まり、吉原以外の遊里の出版物の調査は来年度に持ち越しとなった(但し、吉原細見の分のみ平成八年度、目録を『ビブリア』誌上に発表予定)。また、遊里関連の記事の見える史料の収集にも努めたが、数量的な限界もあり、未だ十分とはいえる状態ではないので来年度以降も根気よく続行する。一方、「遊里関係文献目録」と題して、遊里関係の著作・論文のデータベース作成を行なった(来年度以降も継続収集)。総じて、設定したテーマに比して、実際にはわずかな成果に留まったが、来年度以降は調査年代を広げて、継続して調査・研究を行ないたい。

The collection of historical materials related to tourism is limited to the number of years, and the status of the future is reduced.
