外来患者の家族を対象に、精神分裂病の患者をもつ家族の状況を明らかにするための調査を行った。比較対照のために、ほかの精神疾患についても同時に調査を行った。方法と対象:愛媛大学精神神経科に通院中の患者家族に、あらかじめ作成した質問紙を手渡し、家族内の主たる援助者に無記名で回答していただいた上で、郵便にて返送された145例につきマイクロコンピュータを用いて解析を行った。質問の内容は、以下のような点を明らかにするように構成した。(1)患者と家族の基礎データ(病歴、年齢、性別、続柄など)(2)家族が患者の状態や疾患をどの様に認識しているか。(3)現在受けている治療内容と精神科医師への意見、要望(4)患者がいることで家族関係に起こった変化の内容(5)患者に対して家族がとっている対処行動と、その有効性(6)家族が必要としている知識、援助者、支援システムの内容結果:精神分裂病の患者家族は、(1)患者の予後について、2/3以上の家族がかなり改善するとの認識を持っている。(2)主治医の家族指導については評価は様々で、医師の指導が現困難であるとの認識や主治医交替希望も約1/3に認める。(3)主に家族の心理的支えとなるのは、宗教など絶対的存在、医師からの励まし、家族同志の協力の順である。(4)患者を持った9割以上の家族は精神障害を良く知り積極的に対処しようとの意欲を持っている。そのために家族同志が以前より密接に交流をしているが、患者との対応や将来設計についての意見の食い違いも多くなっている。(5)社会復帰のための制度の充実や職場への受入れと、気軽な相談相手を今後特に必要としている。

(3)The psychological branch of the main family, the existence of religion, the encouragement of doctors, the cooperation of family homosexuality (4)The patient's family has more than 9 cuts, and the mental disorder is well known. The positive response is to maintain the desire.
