Fabrics for apparel use must fit to human sense. This fitting is an important performance of apparel fabrics. This performance of apparel fabrics has been evaluated by subjective method, so called Hand evaluation. The objective evaluation system of this performance has been developed by the present researchers in these twenty years. The ideal fabrics is the fabrics which satisfy the all conditions for high quality suiting. This project has been organized to prepare the technical guideline for realizing the ideal fabric and some of the ideal fabrics have been manufactured by the cooperation with engineers in wool textile industry. The objective evaluation method has been fully applied in this project. The result of this project shows a blight future for engineered manufacturing of high quality fabric.

服装用面料必须符合人体感官。这种合体性是服装面料的一个重要性能。服装面料的这一性能是通过主观的方法来评价的，所谓的手感评价。经过近二十年的努力，目前的研究者已经形成了一套较为客观的绩效评价体系。理想的面料是满足高品质西装面料的所有条件的面料。本项目组织编制了实现理想织物的技术指南，并与毛纺行业的工程师合作生产了部分理想织物。客观评价方法在该项目中得到了充分的应用。该项目的结果显示了高品质织物工程制造的惨淡未来。
