Research into alternative healing practices in modern Japan (esp. from the late period of the Meiji era to the early period of the Showa era), based on source mater lals published in those days, was made to clarify their characteristics and to ciscuss the meaning of their points on medicine and health in the light of the present.Results of an analysis of the related source materials were as follows1.
