The validity and reliability of the newly developed questionnaire on dysphagia screening test was studied for community-residing elderly in Akita prefecture, Japan. In addition to the dysphagia questionnaire, the questionnaire to determine the biosocial rhythms of daily living and the instrumental activity of daily living were also used. Among 2111 elderly, complete answers were obtained from 1390 elderly persons. The reliabily coefficient of alpha was 0.8473. Among 15 items of Fujishima's original questionnaire, 14 items were considered to be useful for community screening. The factor analysis revealed that the items were composed of five factors whose factor contribution was 59%. The prevalence of dysphagia in community-residing elderly persons aged 65 years and over was 18.8%.This new questionnaire seemed to be useful for screening and prevention of dysphagia in community-residing elderly persons. With this questionnaire, comprehensive health education program on food and healthy life was effective for health communication in a small community. The participatory health promotion program including group discussion by community residents was useful for the empowerment of the community elderly persons.

本研究以日本秋田县社区老年人为研究对象，对新开发的吞咽困难筛查测试问卷的信度和效度进行了研究。除吞咽困难问卷外，还使用了确定日常生活生物社会节律和日常生活工具活动的问卷。在2111名老年人中，从1390名老年人获得了完整的答案。信度系数α为0.8473。在藤岛的原始问卷的15个项目中，14个项目被认为是有用的社区筛选。因子分析结果显示，问卷由5个因子组成，因子贡献率为59%。65岁及以上社区老年人吞咽困难患病率为18.8%，该问卷对社区老年人吞咽困难的筛查和预防有一定的参考价值。本调查问卷显示，在一个小社区中，以饮食与健康生活为主题的综合健康教育计划，对健康传播是有效的。社区居民参与式健康促进计划，包括小组讨论，是有益的社区老年人的赋权。
