A Comparative study for integration on the characteristics and dynamism of the regiol consistibe of small towns and the dispersed settlement

本研究项目旨在阐明以小城镇和分散聚落为主的区域的特征和动力。该区域既不包括在任何大都市地区，也不包括在地区或州首府的任何城市地区，也不包括山区。样本区是富山县的Tonami平原、岩手县的Isawa平原和北海道的Furano盆地。研究报告选取加拿大南安大略省和澳大利亚维多利亚州作为研究区域，共17篇，包括两篇总论和一篇关于政治-行政规划的讨论，六篇关于分散聚居区的文章，四篇关于小城镇地区的文章，三篇关于加拿大和澳大利亚地区的文章，两篇关于区域和历史进程的文章。

This research project aims to clarify the characteristics and dynamism of the region where small towns and the dispersed settlement are dominant. The region is neither included in any metropolitan areas and any urban areas of the regional or prefectural capitals nor mountainous areas. The sample regions are Tonami Plain in Toyama Prefecture, Isawa plain in Iwate Prefecture and Furano Basin in Hokkaido. For the comparative studies, South Ontario in Canada and Victoria in Australia were chosen as research areas.The research report includes total 17 articles consisting of two papers of general introduction and a discussion on political-administrative planning, six on the dispersed settlement areas, four on the areas consisting of small towns, three on the regions in Canada and Australia, and two on the regional and historical process.
