本年度8月に清田、堀内の2名は新疆ウイグル自治区農業科学院を訪問し、現地調査を行った。現地では同科学院の楊、潘の両研究員とブドウ栽培環境の問題点等を協議し、今後の方針について話し合った。また、これからの基礎資料を得るため、簡易環境計測についても若干の検討を行った。以下に問題点および検討内容について記す。1.トルファン、ホータンにおけるブドウ栽培上の問題点(1)人口増加にともなって畑地の拡大が進み水の需要量が増してきた。その結果、ブドウの節水栽培技術の開発が緊急の課題である。(2)越冬のために、ブドウの蔓を埋土するのに要する労力が全体の50〜60%を占めるため、この省力化が大きな課題である。このため、微気象環境調節による簡易越冬法や、適正品種の選択や作出などの研究が必要である。(3)農業収入が主であるこれらの地において、ブドウが中心的な収入源であるため、収益性を増すには、収穫物の鮮度保持環境の検討が必要である。2.共同研究推進の方法新疆ウイグル自治区農業科学院と大阪府立大学農学部との間で学術交流協定を結ぶことになり、共同研究を推進するための準備を進めつつある。
