This research project is an international collaboration research (Joint research between universities) between faculty members at Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology, Thammasat University (SIlT) and Kochi University of Technology (KUT).Countries in eastern Asia have gotten economic disorders due to financial panic since some years ago.The disorders make many construction projects suspended, postponed or cancelled in that region. On the other hand, people in that region make effort to recover from the disorders The purpose of this research is to develop construction materials and construction methods suitable for the recession.1.SIIT members made reexamination to a proposal for research given by members in KIJT and sent back their opinions, requests for revision to KUT. Members in RUT discussed their comments and revised the proposal. These procedures were repeated some times and the plan for research was fixed.2.Research members decided how to divide up the work among them according to the above agreement.3.Research works carried out for the first stage.4.Results of the work for the first stage were discussed and found problems to progress the forwardworks.5.The change of conditions in Japan and Thailand was analysed. The effects of the condition change were also analysed.6.Some research members visited to the other party mutually and discussed the research results.7.Each member proposed construction materials and construction methods suitable for recession.
