本年度の研究実績は以下のとおりである。(1)12年度に引き続き、特に豊前地域を私塾関係史料の調査を行ったが、村上仏山(水哉園)及び恒遠醒窓(蔵春園)以外にまとまった文書史料を発見することはできなかった。この結果、同地域内での私塾間の関連などを知る手がかりを得ることができなかった。(2)豊前・豊後地域の塾主の出版物に大きな影響を与えている京・大阪の出版者及び文人と豊前地域の塾主との関係について、村上仏山関連の書簡などわずかではあるが史料を発見することができた。このことによって、三都以外の地方在住の塾主たちが取り組んだ出版活動の一端を垣間見ることができた。(3)私塾教育の底辺を支えるべき寺子屋についても調査を試みたが、若干の師匠塚以外見るべき史料を発見するに至っていない。(4)恒遠家文書を主としてデジタル保存を試み、その一部をCDにおいて保存することが完了した。今後公表方法も含めて、閲覧希望者への利用の機会提供などその利用方法などを検討する
