In the last days of the Tokugawa regime and the early years of the Meiji era, the0 paints used of drawing maps are artificially and aqueous different from usual ones. And, the papers which supporting materials were changed into the machine-made papers from the traditional Japanese papers. So, we research for damage condition of drawing maps, and study the method of preservation colored material.To give the actual methods of rsearch, distinguish the damages of paints - old Japanese paints and aqueous paints, express the colors changes numerically-using the spectrum measure instrument of colors , and observe the fibers of materials with the scanning electronic microscopes.

在德川政权的末期和明治时代的初期，绘制地图所用的颜料都是人工的、水性的，与通常的颜料不同。而且，作为辅助材料的纸也从传统的日本纸转变为机器纸。为此，我们对地图的损坏情况进行了研究，并对彩色材料的保存方法进行了研究，给出了具体的研究方法，区分了旧日本漆和水性漆的损坏，用颜色光谱测量仪对颜色变化进行了数值表示，用扫描电子显微镜对材料的纤维进行了观察。
