Succession of the Pleistocene and recent hormatypic coral

2001年7月至8月，在日本琉球岛的石垣岛、武岛和菊海岛对现代和第四纪珊瑚礁化石进行了研究。在石垣岛白穗珊瑚礁沿岸沿着1 m^2的样方中，用定量方法记录了现代珊瑚群落。同时，还利用样方法对喜海岛和富富岛的垂直露头上的更新世珊瑚群落进行了调查，并通过野外调查所拍摄的草图和照片估算了近期造礁石珊瑚群落的覆盖率。通过使用图像分析软件（NIH Image）计算每个物种的相对丰度。通过对纪海岛上铁海岸露头的研究，重建了全新世海平面变化过程中造礁石珊瑚群落的演替。更新世珊瑚演替进行了分析，在Shidooke，Kikai-jima露头。

Recent and Quaternary fossil coral reefs were studied in Ishigaki-jima, Irabu-jima and Kikai-jima in the Ryukyu Island, Japan from July to August 2001. The recent coral communities were recorded by a quantitative method with quadrat (1 m^2 in area) along the coast of Shiraho coral reef in the Ishigaki-jima. Pleistocene communities were also investigated on vertical outcrops in the Kikai-jima and Irabu-jima with quadrat methods.Coverage of the recent hermatipic coral communities was estimated with sketches and photographs which were taken through the field studies. Relative abundance of each species was calculated by using software for image analysis (NIH Image). Community successions of the hermatypic corals through the Holocene sea-level changes were reconstructed on the outcrop at Kamikatetsu coast of the Kikai-jima. Pleistocene coral successions were analyzed on the outcrops at Shidooke, Kikai-jima.
