项目摘要

本年度は、筑波大学(茨城県つくば市)と国立サハリン大学(ロシア・ユジュノ・サハリンスク市)で、出土資料の分析にあたった。分析対象としたのは、2002年度に発掘調査を実施したサハリン中部のザーパトナヤ10遺跡と同12遺跡から出土した動物遺存体が中心である。これらの遺跡はともにネフスコエ湖岸に立地する貝塚遺跡であり、オホーツク海とも距離的に近い。これまでこの地域の生活実態については、調査密度の低さから不明な部分が多かった。しかし今回の分析調査により、カキを主たる対象とした貝の採集やニシンやコマイを中心とした漁労活動など、水産資源に高く依存した生活が営まれていたことや、食用のためのイヌ利用が行われていたことを明らかにすることができた。特に後者については、その後、当地で動物飼養がよりいっそう盛行し、生業の主体を占めるまでになることを鑑みれば、生産経済の導入が図られた時期としてきわめて重要な意味を持つ。また本年度は、これまで進めてきた北東アジアの海獣狩猟民による動物飼養についてまとめ、博士論文として筑波大学に提出した。その結果、2005年2月28日付けで博士号(文学)が授与された。さらに本年度は、紀元後1千年期後半期に北東アジア一帯に分布した装飾肢骨から、オホーツク文化とその周辺に位置する文化との交流関係について検討を試み、論文を著した。加えて、北海道利尻島に所在する沼浦遺跡(利尻富士町)で実施された発掘調査の報告を行い、動物遺存体の分析に基づき、オホーツク文化期の動物利用について実証的な復元を目指した。
