研究代表者は、本年度において当該研究課題を研究するにあたって以下の研究上の知見を得た。第一に、本研究は、戦後西欧国際秩序の変容を、西ドイツ・フランスの両国の政治外交的ダイナミズムのインターアクションの中から捕らえることを目的とするが、西欧の国際秩序の変容は、冷戦構造を下から侵食するようなグローバルなダイナミズムを有していたことを史料に基づき明らかにしたことである。第二に、西欧国際秩序において重要な現象である欧州統合において、政治経済統合のヨーロッパ化の起源を1950年代末から説き起こし、農業分野を含む全般的共通市場統合路線の登場が、のちのヨーロッパ大のガヴァナンスを生む構造的遠因となったことを明らかにした。第三に、1960年代の西欧国際秩序変動を、欧州統合と安全保障レジームの相互関係の中から考察し、史料に基づきその過程を明らかにした。第一の研究成果は、日本国際政治学会の会誌である『国際政治』に投稿し、掲載が認められた「冷戦と独仏関係:二つの大構想と変容する米欧関係の間で、1959年-1963年」に結実した。第二の研究成果は、日本における若手研究者による近現代史研究の中心となっている『現代史研究』に掲載された「EECの成立と欧州統合史研究の手法に関する一考察」に結実した。第三の研究成果は、平成15年末に北海道大学大学院法学研究科に提出した課程博士論文「1960年代、ヨーロッパ秩序変容期における独仏関係史研究:米欧関係、ヨーロッパ安全保障レジーム、経済統合に関する、ドゴール外交と西ドイツ外交における「ヨーロッパ政策」の協調と対立」に結実した。
