2004年度は、2002年度から展開している「各種史料・資料の蒐集・整理と分析」と「先行研究の検討を含めた方法論的理論構築」を継続しつつ、「近代都市空間における視覚のポリティクス」と「視覚メディアの歴史社会学」という具体的項目を統合する方向で研究を行った。1.昨年度までの研究の継続(方法論の検討と史料・資料の蒐集・整理)2002年度、2003年度から継続して、都市研究・文化研究・文化理論などの各種文献の方法論の検討、および、各種資料・資料の蒐集を行った。特に、昨年度蒐集した19世紀から20世紀前半にかけてのパリ改造事業および写真産業に関する史料・資料の補完作業と、19世紀中葉から1920年代にかけての複製映像の社会的受容の史料・資料についてはパリの各種アーカイヴで調査・収集作業を実施した。また、今年度蒐集した各種史料・資料についても、これまでに蓄積してきた史料・資料と関連づけながら、構築中のデータベースへと統合作業を継続中である。なお、方法論の検討に関連して、以下のような成果を公表した。・家計経済研究所が発行する『家計経済研究』の都市についての特集企画号(2005年4月発行予定)でき丘年の都市史研究文献の書評依頼を受け、書評論文を執筆した(印刷中)。2.具体的研究項目の統合1で蒐集・整理した文献・資料・資料を利用しながら、具体的な研究項目として立てた二項目を統合する方向で研究を展開し、以下のような成果を公表した。・本研究の全体的方向性を、日本社会学会大会(2004年11月20日 於:熊本大学)において口頭報告を行った(「都市写真の想像力」)。・本研究の一部(世紀転換期のパリにおける写真絵葉書の流行)についての論文を執筆し、関東社会学会の学会誌に投稿した。(2004年の12月中旬に投稿。現在審査中で、2005年3月5日段階で修正指示を受けて作業中。2005年4月上旬に掲載可否が最終的に決定される予定)
