项目摘要

OEで関係代名詞(RP)的な働きをしたものに,指示代名詞se/seo/baetがある。通言語的にも指示詞等の直示表現はRPのソースとなりやすい。一方,wh詞もRPのソースとなる傾向があるが,これらの言語表現には「強調詞的機能」があることを見た。また,Langackerによる認知言語学の枠組みでは,wh詞は'a range of alternatives'を前提とし,その一部をプロファイルにより指すという点で一種の直示表現とされる。従って,RP詞のソースとなる指示詞・wh詞は,「直示的機能」「強調詞的機能」を共通の意味基盤として含むと集約できる。Herring(1991)はdiscourse-based grammaticalization(談話基盤文法化)原理として3つをあげる。そのうちpragmatic unmarking原理に沿って関係代名詞の発達を捉えなおすと,「強調詞としての有標価値の希薄化」として説明することができる。Harris ＆ Campbell(1995)は,monoclausal structureでは時制・相・法要素(TAM)が冗長的に現れないと主張する(TAM単一化仮説)。時制・法は定型節に関するgrounding要素なので,grounding要素が2つある構造は単一節的とは言えないことになる。非制限節の先行詞-RPリンクは同一物を表わす2つのfull nominalの併置構造で,各々が独自のgroundingを受けている。TAM単一化仮説に基づき,関係節構造はgrounding要素が冗長的でない構造へと進むと想定すると,制限節RPの先行詞がfull NPではなく,冠詞類を含まないnominal headであることが,Herringの提唱する3つ目の原理syntacticization(「ゆるく結合された構造が統語的に統合されること」)に関連付けて説明できることを示した。

Non-limiting antecedent-RP is not the same as the expression of 2 full nominal juxtaposition structure, each of which is independent of the grounding. TAM is a simple transformation of the basic theory, relational node structure is grounding elements are long, structural structure is advanced, the antecedent of the limiting node RP is full NP, the article class is contained in the nominal head, the principle of syntacticization of Herring's proposal is explained.
