平成15年度の研究ではつぎの二つのことが取り組まれた。1.『純粋理性批判』第二版「カテゴリーの超越論的演繹」における論証構造の解明。2.知覚経験の志向性に関するJ.マクダウェルの議論の批判的検討。1については、論文「カントの経験理論における統覚の役割-第二版「演繹」の論証構造をめぐって」を日本哲学会に提出した。(現在、当論文に関しては再審査のための修正をおこなっている。)本論文では、合理性という規範的概念と統覚との関係に定位することでのみ、「演繹」の基礎をなす統覚の超越論的統一という概念が理解可能なものとなることを示したうえで、第二版「演繹」における「二段階証明」の背景に時空的統一と超越論的統一との同種性というカントの思想が控えていることを明らかにした。2については、マクダウェルに強い影響を与えているデイヴィドソン哲学の検討を合わせることで、マクダウェルの経験主義がはらむ問題を明らかにした。この研究は、マクダウェルとデイヴィドソン両者における概念的内容という考えの中心性という観点から、前者の経験概念に見られる揺らぎを指摘するものである。また、1,2両者にまたがる研究活動としては、近年の解釈学とマクダウェル哲学の相互影響関係、および解釈学的カント研究の調査をドイツ・フライブルク大学においておこなった。
