(1)大分県南地域を事例とした調査研究2000年に実施された「佐伯地域広域市町村圏域・住民意識調査」(調査主体:佐伯地域広域市町村圏事務組合)のデータを用いて、大分県南の地域住民の情報環境、地域情報化事業に対する住民意識、そして地域社会形成と新しいメディア/ネットワークの利活用の関係について分析した。分析結果をもとに、「地域のコミュニケーション・ツール」としての地域情報ネットワークの役割、地域活動を促進する情報発信・交流拠点の必要性、そして電子メディア/ネットワークを利用した生活支援システムを利活用する側にたつ人びと(高齢者や障害をもつ人)の社会参加について考察した。研究成果は、2002年7月に刊行された『研究所報』(大分大学経済研究所)において学術論文として公表した。また、同年9月21日には、日本社会情報学会九州地区研究会第4回研究会において「地域社会における情報化と住民意識-大分県南地域を事例として-」というタイトルで研究報告をおこなった。(2)「情報化と地域生活に関する臼杵市民意識調査」の実施本研究では、CATV網を活用した地域情報ネットワークが試験的に運用されている大分県臼杵市を調査地として、地域情報化に関する住民意識と情報環境の現状分析をおこなう。2003年3月現在、実査を終え、報告書(5月刊行予定)および学術論文の執筆に向けてデータ分析をおこなっている最中である。以下は、調査の概要である。調査主体:大分大学経済学部 助教授 豊島慎一郎、臼杵市役所 市民生活部 企画情報課。調査実施期間:2003年2月14日(金)〜2月28日(金)(但し、実施期間を超過しても断続的に回答が送られてきたため、最終的な期限を3月17日(月)とした。)調査方法:郵送調査法調査対象:2003年2月1日現在、20歳〜75歳の臼杵市民(25,879名)から無作為抽出にて選出された1,500人。有効回答者数:734人(回収率:48.9%)
