昨年度來、課題となっていた英文論文集の編集にあたり、完成させた。この論文集のなかで、19世紀のテヘランでワクフ文書がいかに管理されていたかに関する論文を発表予定であり、これは当時の社会の法的側面を示すものである。19世紀テヘランのワクフ(宗教寄進)200件に関してデータベース化を行い、すでにデータベース化した建築物調査書(店舗4500軒、住宅7865軒、公共施設等660軒)と比較検討してた。これに基づいて、日本オリエント学会年次大会で報告を行った。19世紀のテヘランでは、全商業施設に対して、ワクフ財の占める割合が最大に見積もっても10%程度と低いこと、ワクフ自体の規模も小さく、寄進対象はモスクやマギラサという宗教施設よりも、むしろイマーム・フサインの哀悼など宗教行事にあったこと、寄進者も軍人や官僚よりもむしろ商人・職人が中心となっていたことなどが明らかとなった。これは、従来考えてられていたイランの都市のあり方と大きく異なり、時代的な特徴が反映していると考えられる。一方、いくつかの新資料の入手にも成功した。そのなかで、1883年の人口調査記録は、従来知られていなかったものであり、今後の分析により、当時の住民の家族構成までを明らかにすることができる、。また、19世紀後半の2つの徴税台帳は、当時の都市における徴税のあり方、および税支出の費目などを詳細に示すものである。これらの新資料の分析を終えることはできなかったが、近い将来に果たすべき課題としたい。
