本研究の目的は、自然言語の統語構造における平行的多重性の存在を実証的に検証し、そのような構造の多重性自体を明確に捉え、適切な範囲でそれを可能とする文法理論を構築することにある。本研究では、主に英語を対象としてそのような統語構造の平行的多重性について、次の点を中心に実証的に研究を進め理論化を行おうとしている。今年度は3年計画の1年目として、研究を進める上での基盤とするべく、これまでの理論とデータの収集・整理・検討に重点をおいた。具体的には、生成文法においてこれまでなされてきた研究の中から、特に本研究の対象である構造の不確定性と関連性を持つ統語構造に関する記述を抽出整理し、その理論的・経験的問題点を明確化するよう試みた。さらに、最近のMinimalist Programに基づく理論的・実証的研究を検討し、その統語構造の取り扱いに関する問題点を整理した。また、現代英語の実際の言語資料により、本研究に関連し記述・説明されるべき種々の事実関係をできるだけ詳細に調査した。今年度の具体的成果としては、英語における強意語の分布をthe fuckとfuckingを中心に詳細に調査することから、その生起にKajita(1977)以降展開されてきた動的文法理論、拡張理論が有効であるような特徴が見られることを明らかにした。the fuckはWh疑問文、命令文において特徴的に見られるが、Wh疑問文の場合基本的なWh疑問詞1語の次に現れる形から、前置された疑問詞句が2語以上の場合、間接疑問文の場合などより派生的な形へと順次展開していると考えられる。命令文の場合も、動詞の直後の位置を基本として、目的語の後ろの場合、間接的命令文の場合などに拡張されている。fuckingも主要部名詞の直前の位置を基本として、さまざまな変種へと拡張していると考えられる。

This paper makes a detailed investigation of the relationship between modern English and Chinese language. Kajita(1977), a detailed investigation of the distribution of English strong language, has developed a grammar theory and a theory of grammar.
