项目摘要

Many fungi of Aphyllophorales (Basidiomycotina) have been described by several mycologists from the subtropical areas of Japan, but corticoid fungi (Corticiaceae sensu lato) not known except for several species. The aim of this study was to collect corticoid specimens and isolates from the susbtropical areas including mangrove forests and to carry out their morphological and phylogenetic analyses. In this study, I collected 425 corticoid specimens and 235 isolates. Morphological analyszes revealed that 93 species belonging to 45 genera were distributed in the subtropical areas of Japan. Among these species, the following ten species were recognized as the previously unrecorded from Japan : Asterostroma muscicola, Cerocorticium molle, Gloeocystidiellum moniliforme, G. wakullum, Hyphoderma ayresii, Phanerochaete tropica, Phlebia acanthocystis, Resinicium friabile, Trechispora stevensonii, and Vararia gittoni. Furthermore, one new genus, Haloaleurodiscus, and two new species, H. mangrovei and Asterostroma macrosporum, were proposed based on ribosomal DNA (18S, 25S and/or ITS1-5.8S-ITS2) sequence analyses, and morphological and ecological characteristics of the corticoid fungi collected from the mangrove forests. Further morphological and phylogenetic studies on the many specimens unidentified in this study are required to elucidate floristic of the corticoid fungi in subtropical areas of Japan.
