J. Angstより提供された経過表を改定、日本語版を作成し1998年6月29日より感情障害の追跡調査を開始している。Angstによる経過表はチューリッヒコホート研究でも用いられており、日本語版を作成することにより、国際間での調査の比較が可能になるものと考えた。エントリー患者総数は56例で病相の追跡が終了していないものと追跡不可能となったものが8例存在したため、48例について今回はまとめた。男女比は48例中、男性24例、女性24例であった。病相開始時年齢は56.66歳であり、病相期間は289.6日であった。病気を引き起こした誘引は33例に認められた。病相の前駆症状では、心気症状7例、妄想3例、パニック発作1例、離人症状1例、が認められた。病相期間は289.6日であった。病気を引き起こした誘引は33例に認められた。病相の前躯症状では、心気症状7例、不安症状3例、妄想2例、パニック発作1例、離人症状1例が認められた。病相で認められた症状群は、抑うつ症状群が45例、躁症状群1例、混合状態が1例、パニック発作が3例、健忘症状群が2例、強迫症状が1例、パレイドリアが1例に認められた。病相極期のGAFスコアは50.20点、ハミルトンスコアは22.18点であった。自殺帰途は2例に認められ、内訳は溺死未遂1例、刃物による未遂は1例であった。現在も調査は続行中であり、今後も症例数を重ねていくことにより、日本における感情障害の予後の長期調査が可能になるものと考えられる。
