平成14年度は衝撃的な出来事に直面した後の個人の認知・感情反応に焦点をあて,大学生を対象に質問紙を実施した.研究1では米国同時多発テロ事件に対する人々の認知・情動反応に関するデータを収集した.平成15年3月に実施した.追跡調査の結果は解析中である.研究2では,感情の社会的共有の抑制因として"自己保護""明確化の困難さ""意識化の回避""否定的な他者反応の予防""他者への配慮""話題の社会的価値の低さ"を同定した.平成15年度の研究1では,現在も苦痛な外傷体験の有無,出来事が起こってから現在までの認知・感情反応の諸側面を質問紙法で検討した.外傷体験に対して人々は必ずしもネガティブな意味づけをするわけではなく,出来事の種類によっては肯定的意味が見いだされる場合もある。研究2では大学生と中高生を対象に外傷体験と肯定的感情体験に関するエピソード記憶の諸側面を検討した.外傷体験でも肯定的感情体験でも出来事の中心情報がいっそうよく再生された。平成16年度は日常の感情体験の社会的共有行動の様相と効果にする質問紙調査,外傷体験を含む感情の処理様式を測定する尺度の開発,そして外傷体験の筆記による"語り"がワーキングメモリ容量および唾液中s-IgAに及ぼす効果に関する実験研究を実施した。要約すると、外傷経験の記憶は鮮明で、その記憶貯蔵・再生様式は中学生も成人も同じである。外傷的出来事を経験した人々は典型的には自己の経験を他者に語ろうとし意味を探求しようとする。外傷経験を他者に語ることはしばしば社会的に阻止され、その結果、感情の認知処理が滞り、ウェルビーイングの低下を生じさせる。一方、それらの感情経験は言語化することによって認知機能の改善が生じる。以上の研究成果は、外傷体験の対処過程を理解するためには個人内過程だけでなく社会的過程の影響力にも注目する必要があること、また外傷体験の対処では言語化が重要な役割を果たすことを示唆する。
