(1)英語における談話の能格性と優先的項構造についての研究結果を英語論文にし、外国の専門雑誌に投稿した。審査員2名の査読を経ており、公刊を目指した改訂作業が進行中である。(2)女性米語母語話者の談話における項構造は、主語と目的語が対立し、対格性を示している。自動詞主語における新情報の分布様態は、統計的分析(カイ2乗分析および残差分析)を通して他動詞主語に近いことがわかった。この傾向が男性英語話者にも当てはまるか検証するために、同種の談話資料を分析し、予備調査を行った。その結果「性差」らしきものが観察された。男性(6人分)の発話を観察すると、自動詞主語における新情報の分布様態は目的語の方に近かった。このような違いはどこから来るのか、形態的格表示と矛盾するのはなぜか、という新たな問題が浮上した。研究成果を英語論文にし、愛知県立大学文学部論集(英文学科編)に掲載した。(3)新指示物の導入方法や場所、代名詞化された表現の出現位置と頻度、語りの総語数と新情報数の割合など、様々な要因と照らし合わせて、男女話者の「差」を科学的に検証する必要性が生じた。予備調査を拡張するために、さらに多くの男性話者(12名分)の分析を開始した。女性話者の発話様態と直接比較が可能になるよう、資料整理を行っている。また、形態的に能格性を示す言語(サカプルテック語)との直接比較を行うための整理作業にも着手した。これらは、継続して研究を行い、なるべく早い段階で結果を英文の論文にし、発表する予定である。
